"One aspect of the safe and appropriate utilization of medicines deals with human physiology, pathology, and pharmacology, as the theoretical basis. The other important aspect is a fundamental understanding of what goes into the production of medicines and the patient-centric issues that arise from this process. Pharmacists should understand both aspects to be suitably equipped to advise their patients. In addition, drug delivery concepts should not only be of research importance, since they already affect medicines consumed daily.
